EVANS CREMATION SERVICE, LEOLA

Our crematory is secure and very private. The
Funeral Director calls the office and places the
order for a cremation. At that time the deceased
is given an ID Tag number and the paper work
is started. The Funeral Director arrives and stops
at the front office and gives the authorization
and permit papers to the secretary and she gives
the ID Tag and paper work for the crematory
operator. The Funeral Director backs into the
the unloading area. There the deceased is
properly ID Tagged and is ready for the
cremation to begin. In PA. the stack of the
crematory has to be preheated to 1800 degrees
before the actual cremation process can begin.
Once the after burner (stack) is 1800 degrees,
the deceased will be rolled into the main burner
and the cremation process will begin. The main
chamber burns at 1600 degrees. Our precision
machines are maintained regularly by us and
serviced one time a year by the manufacturer.
Both machines are regulated and inspected by the PA Department of Environmental Protection
to ensure proper functioning and to prevent the escape of dangerous fumes and chemicals into
the atmosphere. We are a member of CANA (Cremation Association of North America) and
our technicians are CANA certified. We welcome visitors, just stop at the office, tell the
secretary you would like to see the crematory and she will get a technician to show you around.

This is our newest retort at the Leola Location. This is like the one we have at the Scheafferstown location. We started this unit in August of 2008.
